The Ethos Challenge |

 I got this in an email from a great friend of mine today. I know many people out there are feeling worried and afraid and this email was such a beautiful reminder to me of all that we are, that I just had to share it with you.

It is more and more obvious that we are in the time of Great Acceleration of Events. As big changes occur with increasing speed and frequency it is ever more important to be centered and in balance within yourself. I have noticed some themes running through our mass consciousness.

The hurricane passing through Texas left millions “without power”, homes wiped away, jobs gone, sometimes whole neighborhoods gone. There is also a hurricane sweeping through the nations economy. Bear Sterns, Fannie May, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, AIG and many other smaller banks and financial companies- all swept away in the blink of an eye- and these are just the first dominoes to fall. Jobs disappear, savings, nest eggs, plans and dreams all washed away for many already. It is interesting to me that the building in Houston most damaged by Hurricane Ike was the J.P. Morgan Chase Bank building. It is interesting to me that stocks are called “securities”.

Let us all now stop and reflect deeply on these self inquiries in a personal way: Have I lost power? If I have no electricity, am I without power?
What is my power and where does it come from. What is my security? What is the source of security?

The activity on the great movie screen in front of us is all trying to tell us something, if we have ears and eyes to perceive.

I say: the power lines are NOT down…the power lines are up and always here….we just have to learn and know how to access them. There is a way to access power and security and all else you require….not from out there…not from the Grid, not from Fema , not from the Federal Reserve, not from Obama or McCain, not from the system that we have been taught we must be dependent on…but from within.

This is the lesson in all this. This is the aikido shift all this upheaval is attempting to teach us and show us how- “learn how to access your power and security and stability from within” This is the lesson.

May those of us who have the luxury to meditate and philosophize about such things all send love and blessings and support to all those who are feeling fear or a lack of safety and security.
