Own your own Ethos Challenge web site!

Monday Jul 6, 2009

I’ve been asked by many people to provide a template of my site – www.theETHOSchallenge.com for their own use.
After much consideration, I can offer the entire site to you for a mere $14.95/month.

Here’s how it’ll work:

  • I will provide you with hosting services that will redirect to the domain of your choice.
  • The Buy Now and Contact pages will direct to your own ecoMates store, and will have your contact information
  • When content is updated on my site, it will be readily available on your site as well

If you’re interested in this, email me and we’ll get you started with your own site.

EthosFR – My Saturn is cleaner than your Prius

Thursday Jul 2, 2009

I just got my Saturn inspected today and asked to see a complete breakdown of my emissions. This car is new to me, though it’s been on the road since 2003 (one owner only: my mother in law), and has 74,043 miles on it.
When I bought it, it got 270 miles per tank – without AC. With EthosFR + it is now getting 290 miles per tank WITH AC, in city; and 330 miles per tank WITH AC, on the highway.

So naturally, I wanted to see how Ethos affected my emissions rating and not surprisingly, my 2003 Saturn is not only cleaner than your Prius, it’s even cleaner than the ULEV standards.

Here’s a table to compare:

Category 50,000 miles/5 years
NMOG CO NOx PM HCHO
LEV
0.075
3.4
0.05

0.015
ULEV

So how much did Ethos FR save me, and how much did it save the planet?

For starters, I didn’t have to shed $22,000 for a Hybrid to get the same results. My MPG increased 25% on the highway with AC. it’s hard to calculate how much I saved in the city cause I only have no AC VS. AC… and it’s too hot to test it without AC. I’ll let you know in the fall.
